Haiti Relief — How to Help Now
1. Donate Cash
Cash is the most effective way to help right now. The funds can be used immediately for the most needed supplies. Please consider making a secure donation online with your debit / credit card or PayPal using the DONATE button on this page. You can also send a checks made payable to Sacred Heart Cathedral with HAITI RELIEF written in the memo— more info here.
2. Donate Supplies
Haiti Outreach Program is now collecting these desperately-needed items:
Water Purification Tablets
Mess Kits
Meals Ready-to-Eat (MRE)
Toothpaste and Toothbrushes
Deodorant
Tarps
Unopened Packages of Gauze
Antibiotic Cream or Lotion
Antibiotic soap
Tylenol
First Aid Kits
Shoes
Please note: Due to current delivery limitations, we are not currently collecting food, water, or clothes. There may be requests for these items in the near future, though, so please check back with us!
3. Volunteer
We need volunteers to help with the upcoming fundraising events. For more info on volunteering at the Fierce & Fancy Formals Dress Sale, and other ideas about how to help, especially if your personal budget is limited, please read this great post on The Haiti Blog.
4. Be a Sponsor
Sponsor a primary school student for $100 a year or a secondary or vocational school student for $200 a year! You can provide books, uniforms, and hot lunches to a Haitian child for a whole year and you will receive a certificate with a photo of the child you sponsor. Your donation is not for administrative fees, 100% of your sponsorship goes to the schools!
Start your sponsorship anytime with a secure online PayPal or credit card donation HERE (just click on the blue EDUCATION donation button)...or in person at our annual Student Sponsorship Drive at Sacred Heart Cathedral Feb. 21st and 28th.
5. Participate Online & Talk With Others
Visit The Haiti Blog, register as a user (you just need an email address), read articles and comment on posts. More visitors and comments means more search engine traffic for our website, and that can lead to more awareness and donations. Join us on our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter. Thank you!
